Hey guys,
I did my first Ultra in Amsterdam in 2015. I made some mistakes when it came to fuelling myself during the event, by eating heavy food and taking longer breaks to do so. I was wondering what your advice would be, what you buy/prepare to take with you and your food plan for during the skate. Thank you!!

It took me years to figure out my nutrition for distance events without puking or pooping during UltraSkate or Chief Ladiga races. For me, I can only use Tailwind. No solid food during the race (or 3 hours prior). And 200-250 calories per hour of Tailwind. I completed 242 miles in 24 hours solely on Tailwind with no stomach issues, as opposed to 194 the previous year with stomach issues having solid foods. Same with Ladiga, 188 mile weekend of puking and pooping along the trail in 2012 and 2013. Then just this year I blasted my old PR by almost 4 hours with nothing but Tailwind. It’s a game changer! (And I am not sponsored, FYI). Good luck!
