When embarquing on a trip, small or big, what spares do you need to take in your backpack for your board. Im guessing maybe bushings, bearings, trucks, hardwear , wheels ? Or don't you need all these.

Most I've done is 71km on a 6 hour 'race', so on a circuit, otherwise it was 55km back and forth.
The only thing I always have with me is the standard skate tool to be able to screw/unscrew the whole longboard, play with the bushings ressure, and rescrew a Wheel.
For the rest, I am more of the philosophy that like in a motorcycle or car road trip, the more spare you bring with you, the more chance you have that Something else will break ;-).
Maybe the most confortable would be to have one truck mounted with wheels/bearings in the back-pack, so you cover more than half the chance of breaking a critical part in the middle of nowhere.

for New Zealand i took so much stuff and only used 2 bearings. My Wheels took a beating but they were still totally rideable. If i was going on a big trip again I'd take a few bushings, a pivot and a set of bearings...
